Workshop on “Earth Observation and Geospatial Information Applications on Drought and Food Security for Transforming to Sustainability”

UNESCAP, GISTDA under operation of ASEAN Research and Training Center for Space Technology and Applications (ARTSA) and Kasetsart University organised the Workshop on โ€œEarth Observation and Geospatial Information Applications on Drought and Food Security for Transforming to Sustainabilityโ€, which was held on 23rd November 2020 at GISTDA Training Center (Bang Khen), Bangkok in Thailand and via VDO Conference. The workshop aimed to exchange knowledge and technological applications on adaptation for extreme weather and challenging drought management and solutions and strengthen networks among sophisticated experts and stakeholders for brainstorming and contributing ideas and pathways as well as being opportunities for further regional joint programmes in order to deliver values towards agricultural communities, livelihoods and societies.   

The workshop was operated in Hybrid pattern, integrating onsite and online participation. There were 65 participants, in public sector, private sector, institutions and intergovernmental organisations in ASEAN region and international organisations, which came from Cambodia, China, India, Indonesia, Japan, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam.
