Faculty of Geo-InformationScience and Earth Observation (ITC),University of Twente, The Netherlands, Geo-Informatics & Space Technology Development Agency (GISTDA) of Thailand, and Faculty of Engineering of Royal University of Phnom Penh (RUPP) have conducted “Train-the-Trainer and course material development for RUPP staff in GIS and RS for Disaster Management (DM)”. This training is designed to address the basic skills in GIS and RS with examples that relate to disaster management. Through hands-on examples the participants acquire the skills and they learn about DM at the same time. A selected sub-group continues after the training to rework the training materials into training materials they can use in the BSc curricula. A two-week training in Phnom Penh, which is the second activity of five parts under the collaborating project, for RUPP staffs, the training will focus on hands-on exercises related to GIS and RS for Disaster Management (ITC focuses on GIS, GISTDA focuses on RS).
