United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP), Institute of Remote Sensing and Digital Earth (RADI) of Chinese Academy of Sciences, the National Remote Sensing Center of Indian Space Research Organization (NRSC/ISRO), and local host by Geo-Informatics and Space Technology Development Agency of Thailand (GISTDA) and ASEAN Research and Training Center for Space Technology and Applications (ARTSA) had jointly organized Training workshop on geospatial information applications for drought monitoring on 19th – 22th February 2019 at Space Krenovation Park, Sri Racha, Thailand
This training focuses on the operation of drought monitoring and analysis and hands-on exercises, towards public officers from Department of Meteorology and Hydrology (DHM) of Myanmar. It aims to enhance the capacity of Government stakeholders to effectively use geospatial information and earth observation data for drought monitoring.
The training activities including:
1.Learning in drought monitoring systems and management from Asia space agencies: including Institute of Remote Sensing and Digital Earth (RADI) of Chinese Academy of Sciences and Geoinformatics and Space technology Development Agency (GISTDA) in Thailand.
2.Hands-on exercises in drought monitoring system.
3.Practicing drought monitoring systems.
